You’ve been riding for years, and you’ve had some pretty wild moments along the way. If you had to pick one, what has to be the most memorable or craziest thing that’s happened in your career?
I mean over the last few decades there have certainly been many many moments!! Some of the craziest are definitely when travelling the world to far away spots. Some of the urban dh builds and testing I’ve done have provided some pretty crazy times. In fact as I write this I’m in Mexico and yesterday jumped off a roof in a favela!
What’s the best piece of riding advice you’ve ever received, and who gave it to you?
"Look up." Given by every single fast rider I’ve ever met.
If you could ride anywhere in the world, no limits, where would you go and why? Is there a dream spot you haven’t ticked off the list yet, or somewhere you’re itching to return to?
I’d love to ride all over to be honest. I’d love to ride more in Asia. It’s just a part of the world where I haven’t been so many times. Madeira is hard to beat though!
What’s one thing only mountain bikers understand?
Shinners
When it comes to keeping a bike running smoothly, what’s the one maintenance tip you think every rider should follow—something that makes a real difference?
I’m pretty regular with keeping my chain lubed that’s for sure. Clean drivetrain is a super boring answer but does keep you going!
You put your bikes through a lot, big jumps, rough terrain, plenty of crashes. How important is frame protection for someone who rides as much as you?
It really is a must. I’m not very precious with my bike and for that reason it gives me great peace of mind to know it’s well protected. I also love that you can replace the kit and your bike looks brand new!
If you weren’t a pro rider, what do you think you’d be doing?
I’d still be biking that’s for sure. For a job though I’m not sure! Helicopter pilot?!
What’s the best trail or feature you’ve ever built?
I’ve been lucky enough to build some pretty iconic Red Bull Rampage features over the years for Bren. It would be hard to not answer that!
If you could apply the same level of protection that invisiFRAME offers to anything outside of bikes, what would it be and why?
My face so I wouldn’t age.
